Information Quick Start

Loch Ard Sailing Club is in central Scotland, located eight kilometres to the West of Aberfoyle and nestling in the heart of the beautiful Trossachs region, near the Glasgow area. The club is located in the Trossachs and Lomond National Park. The loch is fresh water and is the source of the River Forth. Loch Ard is approximately four kilometres long by two kilometres wide, and provides excellent sheltered sailing water.

Although the club runs formal racing, the atmosphere is relaxed. There is no pressure to compete, and members often just take a leisurely sail for pleasure. The club also welcomes children and non-sailing members.

Club membership is good value for money. Membership fees are attractive for families as younger children join free (or pay only a small amount), and a non-sailing partner can join at a reduced rate.
